OVERVIEW
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Technician Apprentice to join our team. This paid apprenticeship position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in Residential and Commercial HVAC Maintenance and Installation. As an Apprentice, you will work closely with more experienced technicians to learn essential trade skills, gain practical experience, and deliver excellent service.
JOB DUTIES
- Assist with installations as a helper as needed which includes ability to handle multiple task delegations at a time and executing assigned tasks, retrieval of tools or materials, and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist with performing maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and cooking appliances in commercial businesses.
- Assist with performing residential maintenances for HVAC (split systems, mini splits, package units, etc)
- Perform heavy lifting
- Use hand tools effectively while maintaining safety protocols
- Contribute to site cleanup, organization of tools/materials, and adherence to safety guidelines at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and Motor Vehicle Report verification
- Position highly physical and requires the use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders.
- Ability to squat and touch the floor at the same time.
- Ability to work in tight spaces, extreme climates (rooftops, freezers etc), and heights.
- Ability to safely lift fifty (50) to eighty (80) pounds.
- Ability to use a ladder with a 350-pound weight limit while carrying equipment up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical labor including heavy lifting and working at heights
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn new technical skills
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and clients
- A proactive attitude toward safety practices and adherence to protocols
- Clean driving record, drug screen, and background check.
- Clear, respectful communication, customer service skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Urgency to try to resolve customer issues ASAP
- Ability to record and save notes in mobile programs / Apps to effectively track
- Must be able to work independently and with limited supervision in timely fashion.
- EPA Universal Certification preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand / power tools preferred
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
