We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Licensed Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical care for a diverse range of animal species. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, including expertise in animal handling, anesthesia, surgery, and critical care. Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues accurately, utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
- Perform surgical procedures ranging from routine spays and neuters to complex operations such as orthopedic or oncological surgeries with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Administer general anesthesia and monitor animals during procedures, ensuring safety through vigilant anesthesiology practices.
- Provide emergency medicine and critical care for animals in urgent need, including stabilization and intensive treatment protocols.
- Utilize laboratory experience for diagnostic testing, including blood work, cytology, and other laboratory procedures essential for internal medicine diagnoses.
- Manage animal restraint and handling effectively to minimize stress and ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Offer pet grooming, animal husbandry advice, and ongoing pet care guidance to pet owners to promote long-term health.
- Apply clinical ethical guidelines when making treatment decisions, prioritizing animal welfare at all times.
- Collaborate with veterinary teams on complex cases involving cardiology, oncology, internal medicine, or other specialties as needed.
Requirements
- Proven veterinary experience with a comprehensive understanding of veterinary medicine principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology relevant to multiple species including dogs and horses.
- Demonstrated expertise in anesthesia administration, surgical procedures, emergency medicine, and critical & intensive care management.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and diagnostic procedures used in internal medicine cases.
- Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for various species; experience with equine handling is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to educate pet owners on animal care, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for surgeries and invasive procedures.
- Experience working within clinical ethical guidelines while making compassionate decisions for patient welfare.
- Additional skills such as pet grooming or pet catheterization are considered valuable assets.
