Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager to lead our financial operations with precision and enthusiasm. Duties
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and account reconciliation using our Construction Accounting Software - ComputerEase.
- Oversee payroll administration utilizing our Construction Accounting Software - ComputerEase to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards in all financial transactions and reporting activities.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support audit readiness.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills—including formulas like VLOOKUP—to analyze payroll and accounts payable data for discrepancies or trends.
- Conduct regular audits of accounts payable automation processes and implement improvements for efficiency.
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while managing sensitive payroll data and vendor records.
- Prepare detailed reports on accounts payable aging, payroll costs, and financial compliance metrics for management review.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all accounting procedures, journal entries, and audit trails to support internal controls.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems including QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian or similar platforms.
- Expertise in accounts payable processes, invoice processing automation, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Proficiency in payroll with a solid understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Deep understanding of GAAP standards and SOX controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal control adherence.
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools for effective reporting.
- Experience with double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to corporate accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data promptly.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and prepare comprehensive reports for leadership.
