EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position guides nursing and public health staff to ensure high quality services that support the mission of the Bureau of Community Health Systems. It plays a key role in strengthening the workforce and improving community health efforts statewide. As a Community Health Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

Staff Supervision: Oversee a public health educator and population health nurses to support consistent and effective service delivery

Program Leadership: Plan and evaluate public health activities, emergency responses, and outreach efforts

Training Development: Design, conduct, and assess training for nursing and public health support staff

Clinical Instruction: Teach public health fundamentals and provide follow-up coaching to strengthen clinical skills

Policy Implementation: Participate in shaping and applying guidelines that influence nursing practice and service quality

Workforce Support: Review required certifications, education needs, and documentation to maintain staff competency

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Weekend and after-hours assignments are required as needed.

Headquarters: The location will be determined by the selected candidate and can be at any of the state health centers.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the selected headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
