Overview
Kirby Pines is seeking a dedicated RN and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing high-quality patient care in our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, home health, hospice care, and acute care. This leadership role requires a commitment to excellence in nursing administration and the ability to foster a collaborative environment that prioritizes resident care.
Must have nursing home experience
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development and performance.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage staffing schedules and shift management to ensure adequate coverage for patient care needs.
- Conduct regular reviews of documentation for quality assurance and improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of current medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and Medicare regulations to support effective care delivery.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient patient management and data tracking.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Skills
Must have proven experience as a Director of Nursing
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, home health, hospice care, or acute care environments.
- Strong management skills with a focus on nurse management and supervising experience.
- In-depth knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and care plan development.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a commitment to fostering teamwork among staff members.
- Proficient understanding of medical records management and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards within healthcare settings.
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
