Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough plaque removal and patient comfort
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with infection prevention protocols
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Manage infection control procedures by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a clean clinical environment in line with healthcare standards
- Support patient care by managing appointment scheduling, patient communication, and documentation review for treatment planning
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental terminology and procedures
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, including dental X-ray procedures and radiation safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear instructions and compassionate care
- Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification is required
