Join our private cardiology practice as a Part-Time Medical Assistant working every Monday through Thursday and enjoy having every Friday off!. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, perform accurate intake procedures, and document patient histories efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and oxygen saturation to support clinical assessments.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness and sterilization standards are maintained throughout the clinic or hospital setting.
- Support providers with order entry and medication refills
- Perform 12 lead EKGs on patients as needed
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-ups, and ensuring timely patient arrivals for outpatient or inpatient services.
- Assist with ICD coding for diagnoses to facilitate accurate billing and recordkeeping in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with clerical duties such as scanning medical records, pulling pacemaker downloads and clearing faxes
- Maintain thorough documentation of all clinical activities while respecting patient confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Train for medical scribing to be completed with the provider during patient office visits
- Prepare charts for the office visits including pulling hospital records and putting them in the patient chart
- Assist the medical receptionist with check in and check out
- Send out medical record requests
Experience
Candidates should bring a strong foundation in clinical support roles with experience with both front and back office duties. Proficiency with EClinicalWorks is required. Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD coding procedures, and medical terminology is essential for success.
