We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and NEC (National Electrical Code). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects such as construction sites, renovations, and ongoing maintenance of industrial electrical systems. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, excellent diagnostic skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality electrical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on industrial equipment and infrastructure while adhering to all electrical safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure optimal operation across various facilities.
- Diagnose complex electrical issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems.
- Follow all local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, NEC guidelines, and safety protocols during installation and repair activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial electrical systems and commercial electrical work.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, low voltage systems, and the installation of industrial electrical components.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance requirements and adherence to all relevant local electrical codes.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects involving complex electrical installations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting diverse electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control wiring, and automation systems is highly desirable.
