Job Title: Human Resources Clerk
General Definition: Ensure the efficient operation of the Human Resources Department by performing various clerical and administrative duties.
Supervision Received: Human Resources Manager
Supervision Exercised: HR Specialist
Essential Job Functions:
- Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Responsible for all HRIS data entry.
- Responsible for I-9 Administration.
- Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
- Serve as point of contact with benefit vendors and administrators.
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, etc.
- Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
- Assist with performance management procedures.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
- Prepare new hire employee files and orientation packets.
- Conduct new hire onboarding and new employee orientation.
- Complete filing of employee documentation in employee files.
- Support the Human Resources Manager with all human resources functions.
- Create employee’s files and maintain confidential employee personnel records.
- Prepare new employee benefit files and packets for weekly new employee benefits meeting.
- Maintain employee personnel, benefit and payroll files.
- Perform human resources and administrative tasks.
- Maintain applicant paperwork and recruiting files.
- Special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Education:
- High School diploma required.
- Associate degree is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with internal employees and external contacts
- Ability to prioritize, take initiative and multi-task
- Must be able to handle extremely confidential information
- Must be resourceful
- Must be able to work on sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to enter a smoke filled environment as needed
Training and Experience:
- 2 plus years’ prior experience in a Human Resources or Legal office
- Familiarity with ADP or any HRIS system
- Proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Suite applications
- Working knowledge of employment laws related to document retention
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
