Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and personal vehicles for long-distance deliveries across regional or national routes
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers, maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism
- Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all driving activities
- Utilize mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication with dispatch teams
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Assist with warehouse operations when needed, including moving inventory, manual handling, and operating warehouse equipment
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; non-CDL license required for operating box trucks and personal vehicles
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier services with a focus on route driving
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred
- Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling procedures
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries
- Ability to work independently on long routes while maintaining safety and efficiency standards
