Position Overview:
Illuminations Academy is seeking a dynamic, creative, and inclusive Elementary Teacher who is passionate about meeting the needs of diverse learners. This educator will design engaging, innovative instruction that honors individual learning styles and promotes a classroom culture of curiosity, respect, and belonging. We are looking for a teacher who believes all students can succeed and who uses differentiated strategies to support a wide range of learning profiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lessons across core subjects (language arts, math, science, and social studies) with attention to various learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and responsive to the academic, emotional, and social needs of all students.
- Use creative instructional methods, including project-based learning, visual arts, storytelling, and hands-on activities to reach diverse learners.
- Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations/modifications to support students with learning differences (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia, autism, etc.).
- Build strong relationships with students and families, maintaining regular communication and collaborative problem-solving.
- Collaborate with colleagues, learning specialists, and support staff to ensure that all students are set up for success.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and joyful learning environment that encourages student voice, independence, and confidence.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices
- Experience designing creative and differentiated lessons
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills
- Experience working with students with learning differences in a general education setting
