We’re looking for a detail-driven Quality Technician – Lab to help ensure our products meet strict internal and customer specifications. In this hands-on role, you’ll test materials, analyze results, and support continuous quality improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do
- Inspect and test finished goods, raw materials, and competitive samples
- Perform lab testing using ASTM and MSE methods
- Identify non-conforming materials and assist with quality control efforts
- Accurately log, analyze, and report test results
- Create and issue Certificates of Analysis for customers
- Label, track, and store sample retains and competitive samples
- Operate the QC Lab Line to produce film to specified thickness and quality standards
- Maintain lab equipment, calibration, and a clean, organized lab environment
- Communicate results with quality, production, and incoming shifts
- Follow all safety, food safety, and PPE requirements
Testing & Equipment Experience
You’ll work with a wide variety of lab tests and equipment, including:
- Gauge Profile, COF, Elmendorf Tear
- Tensile, Elongation, Modulus
- Dart Impact, Haze, Opacity, Shrink
- Melt Flow Index, Surface Tension, Gloss, Seal Testing
- Visual inspections and yield calculations
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Manufacturing, lab, or quality experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (or willingness to be trained)
- Reliable, organized, and safety-focused
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily lab-based with some time on the manufacturing floor
- Ability to lift to 40 lbs (with assistance for heavier items)
- Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand movements
- Required PPE includes safety-toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, and task-specific gear
Schedule
This is a full-time hourly position working 8:00 AM–8:00 PM or 8:00 PM–8:00 AM on a rotating monthly schedule (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next). Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where PPE is required at all times.
