Under immediate (Transit Driver I) or general (Transit Driver II) supervision, performs working level, non- CDL licensed duties and full performance level, CDL licensed duties, in the operation of assigned North Central Regional Transit District transport and passenger vehicles as needed to travel assigned fixed and “demand” service routes; and performs related work as required.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education:

Transit Driver I/II:Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade required.
Experience:
-
Transit Driver I: Three (3) years of driving experience including one (1) year of experience performing above or related duties.

Transit Driver II: Four (4) years of driving experience including two (2) years of experience performing above or related duties.
Licenses and Certifications:
Transit Driver I:

Obtain and maintain all other endorsements/clearances required by DMV, to be maintained throughout employment.

Must satisfactorily complete the District’s New Operator Training Program.
Transit Driver II:

Possession of, or successful acquisition within six (6) months of employment, a valid State of New Mexico Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A or B) with multi-passenger “P” endorsement and airbrake certification, to be maintained throughout employment.

Obtain and maintain all other endorsements/clearances required by DMV and obtain DOT medical certificate and maintain such for the duration of employment as a Driver.

Must satisfactorily complete the District’s New Operator Training Program.
