GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists. Reviews patients’ functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
2.Assesses and interprets patient evaluations and test results.
3.Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
4.Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of identified impairments and incorporates participation by significant others whenever appropriate.
5.Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and modify plan of care when necessary.
6.Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
7.Maintains interactive communication with patients (and families when appropriate).
8.Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
9.Practices hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
10.Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
11.Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources.
12.Provides month end reporting of statistics and any requisite quality assessment parameters.
13.Assists with office duties for scheduling, billing, and transferring of data.
14.Oversees patient care and manages patient reports to providers as needed.
15.Complies with state and federal regulations with regards to physical therapy practices and services.
16.Provides education opportunities for staff and patients.
17.Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional development.
18.Maintains department files and records according to state, federal, and MVMC guidelines.
19.Ensures proper documentation is completed in a timely manner for all patients both in the hospital and clinic settings.
20.Maintains licensure and certifications necessary for position.
21.Acts as a good steward of organization resources.
22.Satisfactory time and attendance
23.Ensures equipment is maintained in good working order.
24.Ensures department and equipment is properly sanitized and cleaned for patient care needs.
25.Other duties as assigned
(Education, License/Registration, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)
- Graduate of accredited school of Physical Therapy and successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination required.
- Montana Physical Therapy License required.
- 3 years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- CPR Certification required.
