Highlands Animal Care is seeking a skilled, dependable Licensed Veterinary Technician who wants to practice high-quality medicine, contribute meaningfully to patient care, and work with a collaborative team that respects the veterinary technician profession.
Our privately owned hospital was created by veterinary professionals with more than 35 years of combined experience in general practice, emergency, specialty, and nonprofit medicine. What Makes This Position DifferentMeaningful Technician Utilization
Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are essential members of the medical team—not simply assistants.
Depending on your experience, training, and comfort level, your responsibilities may include:
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Dental radiography and comprehensive dental procedures
- Surgical preparation and sterile technique
- IV catheter placement and venipuncture
- Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostics
- Radiology and diagnostic-imaging support
- Hospitalized patient care and treatment
- Medication administration
- Pain assessment and patient monitoring
- Emergency stabilization and triage
- Client education and discharge instructions
- Endoscopy, ultrasound, and advanced-procedure support
- Training and mentoring veterinary assistants and developing team members

Transparent Compensation
Hourly pay: $24.70–$28.70
Placement within our transparent compensation scale is based on objective factors, including:
- Veterinary experience
- Education and active licensure

- Leadership or training experience
- Demonstrated reliability and professional performance
Candidates with advanced anesthesia, dentistry, surgery, emergency, or specialty-level skills are encouraged to apply.

What We’re Looking For
The right candidate will have:
- An active Nevada LVT license in good standing
- A strong professional ethic demonstrated through integrity, accountability, dependability, and attention to detail
- Strong anesthesia and patient-monitoring abilities
- Excellent communication and medical-documentation skills
- A calm, compassionate approach to patients and clients
- A commitment to high-quality medicine and patient safety

- Reliable attendance and transportation
- The physical ability to safely lift and handle patients weighing up to 50 pounds

Fear Free experience, advanced dentistry or anesthesia skills, and experience with emergency, specialty, or advanced procedures are highly valued but not required.
