The Directr ensures students develp the literacy skills necessary fr academic success, pstsecndary readiness, career preparatin, and civic engagement thrugh high-quality Tier I instructin and equitable access t rigrus learning pprtunities.
The Directr leads districtwide reading and writing initiatives, supprts the implementatin f high-quality instructinal materials, and builds the cntent knwledge, instructinal expertise, and leadership capacity f teachers and administratrs t ensure rigrus, standards-aligned Tier I literacy instructin acrss all secndary classrms. The Directr develps systems that prmte literacy achievement, implementatin fidelity, and cntinuus imprvement while cllabrating with schl and district leaders t strengthen literacy instructin acrss all cntent areas and ensure students are prepared t read, write, cmmunicate, and think critically in cllege, career, and life.

Ensure literacy curriculum, instructin, assessment, and interventin systems are aligned t Pennsylvania Academic Standards and district pri- rities.
Lead and supp- rt district-wide reading initiatives and writing initiatives.
Cllabrate with curriculum departments t embed literacy practices acrss all c- ntent areas.
