American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine, with at least 1 year of MFM-specific sonography experience and RDMS (OB/GYN) certification required.

Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) outpatient clinic setting
-
Procedures include first trimester scans, nuchal translucency, anatomy and growth scans, dopplers, biophysical profiles, basic fetal echocardiography, transvaginal ultrasound, portable imaging, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling (CVS)

Patient population consists of obstetric and high-risk prenatal patients

EMR is Epic (experience preferred)

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; no weekends, no call, no holidays

13-week contract

Minimum 1 year of sonographer experience specifically in Maternal Fetal Medicine, with most recent experience within the last year
-
RDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty issued by ARDMS
-
BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the AHA
-
Active license required if applicable
-
Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their sonographic diagnosis

Proficiency in identifying cross-sectional human anatomy and distinguishing normal from abnormal findings
-
Must be able to perform patient positioning, lifting, and pushing/pulling using proper body mechanics
-
1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration

Performs basic to advanced obstetric diagnostic ultrasound imaging, selecting appropriate transducers and technical factors including Doppler, color imaging, M-mode, and real-time techniques

Reviews medical records including patient history, lab results, and physician orders prior to each examination
-
Calibrates, adjusts, and maintains ultrasound equipment; reports equipment failures to biomedical department and leadership

Participates in department quality assurance studies and maintains accurate records including billing code documentation
-
Assists in clinical instruction of sonography students, OB/GYN residents, and medical students
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for this travel assignment
