Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team and provide exceptional care for individuals with developmental disabilities in <LOCATION>. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities and autism by implementing behavior management strategies and promoting positive behaviors.
- Facilitate communication using techniques such as American Sign Language (ASL) when applicable, ensuring effective interaction.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medication administration records.
- Engage clients in community outings, transportation, and recreational activities to promote social integration.
- Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and goals to inform care plans and support team collaboration.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to foster a safe and nurturing environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or in special education is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus.
- Knowledge of behavior health principles and behavior management techniques.
- Experience with home and community care settings, assisting with ADLs, caregiving, and supporting independence.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings or client appointments.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
