The position of an Assistant Principal Secretary will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Ensure efficient operation of school administrative offices and provide clerical services for school administrative staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duplicate and distribute information to students, faculty, and staff.

Assist in receipt, monitoring, and recording messages; transfer calls to appropriate assistant principals.

Maintain an accurate filing system for all students' attendance and discipline records.

Prepare type and print forms used by assistant principals.

Assist assistant principals with correspondence, record keeping, and preparation for special programs as needed.

Reassign missed detention and grounds improvement class for third tardies.

Assist in preparing and compiling teacher and student packets as needed.

Serve as liaison between the school and Student Adjustment Center, maintaining records and securing student assignments.

Maintain up-to-date documentation of student attendance make-up sessions and credit denial status.

Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports.

Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain a calendar for the assistant principals.

Maintain physical and computerized files including an inventory of office supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communication as assigned.

Perform routine bookkeeping tasks including simple arithmetic operations to maintain campus budget records.

Observe all guidelines of confidentiality.

Assist with special events (orientation, prep days, registration).

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school graduate or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do work processing
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Perform duties with a minimum of supervision
Experience:
1 to 2 years' secretarial experience, preferred
