Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our fabulous dental team on a flexible schedule of 1 to 2 days per week. One of our three hygienists is relocating soon. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
- Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with gentle chairside assistance, ensuring comfort and safety for young patients.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories.
- Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
- Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and dental assisting practices such as chairside assisting.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology essential for maintaining confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.
