Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Receive all incoming deliveries to ensure pricing and inventory accuracy
- Assist customers with product inquiries, and upsell to promote store offerings
- Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are rotated, well-merchandised, organized, and replenished regularly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, back stock area, and coolers
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and assisting with merchandising strategies
- Handle customer questions professionally and courteously
- Support the team in performing retail math calculations for pricing
Skills
- Proven experience in grocery retail or similar retail environments is a MUST
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
- Proficiency with POS systems, Excel, cash handling, and retail math calculations
- Experience leading team members is advantageous
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Familiarity with grocery store operations including stocking, cashiering, and products
- Demonstrated phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone
