Join our dynamic team as a Pediatric Home Health Care Nurse (Registered Nurse - RN), working 20 to 30 hours per week to provide compassionate, expert nursing care directly in the homes of pediatric patients. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations tailored to pediatric patients.
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other methods while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex medical equipment such as ventilators, feeding tubes, and oxygen therapy devices in home settings.
- Conduct specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization, ostomy care, and sterile processing when necessary.
- Coordinate care plans with physicians and families, ensuring discharge planning and ongoing treatment align with best practices and patient needs.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner; maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Provide health coaching and education to families on medication administration, infection control, developmental milestones, and emergency response procedures.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current state registration; prior pediatric nursing experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric-specific skills such as tube feeding management, airway management, and neonatal ventilator care.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in settings like assisted living or long-term care is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems including Epic, Cerner or similar EMR/EHR platforms; familiarity with ICD-10 coding is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pediatrics; capable of performing physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently.
- Ability to work independently in home environments while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills for triage calls, family education, case management coordination, and emergency response situations.
