- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
- Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of specimens
- Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory
- Follow established protocols and safety guidelines for specimen collection and handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area
- Provide exceptional patient care during the phlebotomy process
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen collection and timely delivery to the laboratory
- Assist with other laboratory tasks as needed
```Skills```
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Proficiency in venipuncture for at least 6 months
- Excellent patient service skills, including the ability to put patients at ease during the phlebotomy process
- Must have a minimum of six months of blood drawing at a job position
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks as needed
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations and quality control processes
- Knowledge of physiology related to phlebotomy procedures
