Job Duties and Responsibilities
GAAs working in the Graduate School spend the majority of their time engaged in projects related to graduate education. Although responsibilities vary, they may include:
- Programming and event planning, communication, advertising and social media management around events;
- Curriculum development related to interdisciplinary studies;
- Outreach to current and prospective students;
- Grad student support and advocacy.
In addition to research/coordination responsibilities, GRAs in the Graduate School aid the Graduate School staff with administrative-type responsibilities. Typical responsibilities include:
- Social media app management;
- Providing support for the supervisor- processing mail, answering phones, etc.;
- Assisting supervisor with the preparation of written correspondence to students
