Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Collect patient vital signs, medical histories, and perform intake procedures with professionalism and compassion
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, taking X-rays, and recording medical documentation
- Support medical office management by maintaining accurate medical records, ICD coding, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist during procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings
- Manage patient flow efficiently by coordinating appointments, follow-ups, and handling patient inquiries both in person and over the phone
- Ensure proper documentation of medical records and assist with billing or insurance processing as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation practices
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards
- Hands-on experience with clinical procedures such as vital signs collection, phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
- Background in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care or outpatient clinics highly desirable; inpatient or Level I/II trauma center experience is a plus
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environments including emergency medicine or Geriatrics settings
- Certification in Medical Assisting or related fields preferred; must demonstrate professionalism and attention to detail
