Position Overview:
As a Head Teacher at Little People Learning Center, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of our young learners. You will be responsible for creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment, developing lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each child, and ensuring their overall safety and well-being. We're seeking a creative and dedicated individual who shares our passion for early childhood education.
What You'll Do
Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our children and align with NAEYC standards.

Supervise and lead a classroom of young learners, prioritizing their safety and well-being at all times.

Create a nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth in our children.

Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and supportive team approach to teaching.

Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on children's progress and classroom activities.

Ensure the classroom remains organized and clean at all times.

Maintain accurate records of child assessments, behavior, and development.

Engage in ongoing professional development to contribute to the center's growth and success.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:

Head Teacher Credential from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) is mandatory.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education (ECE) is required.

Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices is essential.

Ability to develop creative lesson plans that foster learning and engagement is necessary.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with children and adults (parents and staff) are required.

Demonstrated leadership ability in a classroom setting.

A genuine passion for working with young children and contributing to their development in a positive environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.

High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.

Physical requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.

A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.

A degree in early childhood education or a related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE is desirable.
