About Us:
Work Ready Truck specializes in high-quality truck upfits, custom fabrications, and commercial vehicle modifications. We take pride in delivering durable and functional solutions for our clients in various industries, including construction, utilities, and emergency services. Our team values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This role is for a true fabricator, not just a production welder. The right candidate can take a set of prints, plan the build, and execute it from raw material through final install. This role involves customizing truck bodies, building components from scratch, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
- Fabricate and assemble custom truck bodies, racks, brackets, and upfit components from raw materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, then translate them into finished products with minimal supervision.
- Lay out, measure, cut, bend, and fit materials using fabrication equipment.
- Operate shop equipment including press brake, shear, saws, drills, and grinders.
- Plan fabrication steps, material usage, and sequencing to build efficiently and accurately.
- Install truck accessories such as toolboxes, racks, and other custom features.
- Troubleshoot fitment issues and make adjustments as needed in real time.
- Ensure all work meets company and industry safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of fabrication experience (truck upfit, automotive, or similar industry preferred).
- Strong MIG welding skills.
- Proven ability to read and work from blueprints without constant oversight.
- Experience using a press brake and shear.
- Ability to build parts from raw material, not just assemble pre-cut components.
- Strong understanding of measurements, layout, and tolerances.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Welding certifications are a plus, but not required.
Interview Process:
Qualified candidates will complete a hands-on fabrication test as part of the interview process.
Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Opportunities for training and career growth.
If you take pride in building things the right way and want to be part of a team that values real craftsmanship, we encourage you to apply.
