Job Summary
FRIENDS Association for Children is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Floater Teacher Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to classroom teachers in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will assist with lesson implementation, classroom management, and student engagement, particularly within early childhood and school-age settings. Must have a high school diploma or GED, or current high school senior, a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children, particularly infants, toddlers, preschool and school-age students.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities that promote literacy education and childhood development.
- Provide care and supervision for students, ensuring their safety and well-being during classroom activities.
- Support curriculum development by contributing ideas and resources that enhance the learning experience.
- Engage with students in meaningful ways to foster their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with teachers regarding student progress and concerns that may arise.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to childcare and early childhood education
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, private school, or similar environments.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Background in early childhood education will enhance your candidacy.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
This position is 20 hours per week.
Work Hours: 2PM - 6PM, Monday through Friday. (Must be available to work afternoon shift all 5 days)
