Summary:
The Director of the Heart Center serves as the primary advocate for families and patients seeking services within the greater pediatric cardiology department. This position is responsible for departmental clinical performance and accountability as well as administrative oversight and leadership.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for direct patient care, diagnostic and therapeutic management, quality, and physician human resource management.

In collaboration with the Center's Administrative Director, lead, foster and support a culture that motivates and makes accountable physicians and clinical staff for pursuing continuous improvement while providing care to patients that is high quality, safe, efficient, equitable, timely and patient-centered.

May propose, sponsor and support clinical programs under the auspices of the Center, and will facilitate collaboration with other clinical practices, local, regional and national community.

This position expects a commitment of a minimum of 20% of their time to leadership and supervision of the Heart Center's activities.

Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.

Strong communication (verbal and written), leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.

Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience

Education: Pediatric residency with fellowship in cardiology; future leader could be cardiothoracic residency with fellowship in congenital heart surgery.
- Certification: Board Certification.
