Tropical Elementary in Merrit Island is seeking an experienced 6th Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- FLDOE certification in Elementary Ed K-6

Starting instructional pay is $50,450 per year, plus there is a pay supplement for an advanced degree.
Please note salary is based on verifiable years of experience as per District guidelines.

Our voters passed a millage in 2022 and all instructional staff, from zero to 19+ years of experience, will receive a supplement. The pay ranges based on years of experience, but for a teacher with 19+ years' experience, that's approximately an additional $8,266 (pay and supplement are prorated based on start date) in your pocket! This raises the overall compensation higher than our neighboring school districts.
