The
Electrical-Mechanical Design Team Lead will oversee the Electrical Schematics and Electrical Installation teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing electrical cabinets, wire harnesses, and grounding for electro-mechanical train components. This leadership role involves managing engineering capacity, ensuring project compliance, and fostering team growth through training and mentorship.
Key Activities
- Continuous development and management of the Electrical Installation and Schematics team.
- Manage work packages within project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Office), ensuring accurate capacity planning and task allocation.
- Preparation of installation drawings, schematics and production documentation with the team.
- Working in PLM systems (SmarTeam, Teamcenter) and tooling landscapes to streamline workflows.
- Change management based on feedback from production and in alignment with the Lead Engineer.
- Facilitate the adoption of the current designs to American Railway Standards.
- Creation/Optimization and establishment of engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Ensuring that the relevant electrical engineering work packages adhere to both cost and schedule requirements.
- Collaboration with cross functional department (System Engineers, Mechanical, Project Management, Production, and Quality) throughout product development stages.
- Lead technical releases of articles, 3D models, drawings, and associated documentation, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Ensure all electrical installation, schematic and design activities meet company standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
