Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician is a skilled and reliable individual dedicated to supporting the operation of a chemical processing, plating, and metal finishing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing plating lines, ground, and building, servicing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the facility and its systems.
Responsibilities
Plating Line Maintenance:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plating line components including tanks, pumps, heaters, and filtration systems.
- Ensure proper operation of chemical dosing and control systems.
- Monitor and maintain safety and environmental compliance standards.
Equipment Repair & Servicing:
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in production equipment.
- Perform repairs or coordinate with vendors for specialized service.
- Maintain records of repairs and parts usage.
Preventative Maintenance
- Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for all facility equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and document findings.
- Replace worn or defective parts before failure occurs.
Forklift & Material Handling Equipment:
· Perform routine servicing and minor repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
· Ensure equipment is safe and compliant with operational standards.
General Building Maintenance
- Perform repairs on facility infrastructure including plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and structural components.
- Assist with facility upgrades and modifications as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in both electrical and mechanical applications is required.
- Familiarity with chemical processing and plating operations is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with forklifts and material handling equipment.
