Opportunity Information:
Position Overview
Worldpac is building a pre-eminent Procurement organization—one that runs day-to-day operations flawlessly and modernizes how we buy, pay, and manage suppliers end-to-end This role has two main focus areas within Procurement: 1) rollout and adoption of Synertrade software platform as Worldpac’s Source-to-Pay strategy across our current technology stack (Oracle + IBM AS/400 environment), including process design, controls, data discipline, and change management and 2) leading accountability for daily execution (buyers/schedulers, service, inventory flow, supplier performance). This position is a key leader who must bring a combination of strong technical/ systems expertise as well as procurement operational experience and leadership.
What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months)
Implement Synertrade software platform to transform the Source-to-Pay operating model: Synertrade implemented to refresh, clarify and automate process ownership, SOPs, training, compliance mechanisms, and KPI cadence
-
Procurement runs “quiet” operationally: fewer expedites, fewer stock-outs driven by purchasing execution, improved on-time supplier delivery and fill rate.
-
Faster, cleaner transactions: reduced cycle times (PR-to-PO, PO-to-receipt, invoice-to-pay), fewer invoice exceptions, cleaner master data
-
Measurable value creation: productivity gains, working-capital improvement, lower purchase price variance, reduced obsolescence, stronger supplier performance
-
Sustained adoption: tools and processes used correctly (not “optional”), with auditing and continuous improvement embedded
Implement Synertrade / Own the Source-to-Pay Strategy and Rollout
- Define and execute the S2P roadmap using our existing stack (Oracle + AS/400 ecosystem) — pragmatic upgrades, not “boil-the-ocean”
-
Lead implementations/enhancements including implementing Synertrade platform from scratch: requirements, testing, cutover planning, training, hypercare, and benefits tracking
-
Standardize global/enterprise procurement policies and controls:
-
requisitioning & approval workflows
-
purchasing channels (catalogs, contracts, spot buys)
-
receiving & 3-way match discipline
-
supplier onboarding, compliance, and master data governance
-
Drive automation and digitization where it improves throughput and compliance (templates, guided buying, workflows, exception management)
Performance Management and Value Realization
-
Build the KPI framework and operating cadence (daily/weekly/monthly) for:
-
OTIF / fill-rate drivers
-
PO cycle time and backlog
-
invoice exception rate / match rate
-
price variance & recovery
-
inventory health impacts (excess/obsolete prevention, lead-time adherence)
-
compliance (PO usage, approvals, contracts)
-
Create a visible benefits tracker tied to EBITDA and working capital
-
Use analytics to identify root causes and drive corrective actions—not just report outs
Influencing and leading Day-to-Day Procurement Operations (Run the Business)
-
Leverage system/ technology changes to drive execution across the operational procurement organization (buyers, schedulers/planners as applicable), setting daily/weekly operating rhythms
-
Ensure purchasing execution meets service, cost, and quality targets (availability, fill rate drivers, supplier OTIF, expedite control)
-
Own operational issue resolution: shortages, supplier constraints, quality holds, pricing discrepancies, and escalations
-
Establish standard work, role clarity, capacity management, and coaching/development for frontline teams
-
Own the department budget (where applicable) and productivity plans
Supplier Performance, Programs, and Governance
-
Build the supplier performance management system: scorecards, QBRs, escalation paths, corrective actions
-
Partner with category leaders to connect sourcing strategy to operational outcomes and ensure transparency and accuracy of critical procurement performance information (lead times, minimum order quantity, order frequency, availability, etc.)
-
Create supplier programs that matter for Worldpac (service/availability, cost performance, responsiveness, data quality)
-
Implement supplier recognition and accountability mechanisms to shift performance sustainably
Cross-Functional Leadership and Change Management
-
Act as the integrator across Procurement, Supply Chain, DC Operations, Finance/AP, IT, and Product Management. The implementation of the S2P technology platform will be a nearly singular focus for this role for the first 6-12 months.
-
Lead change management: stakeholder alignment, training, communications and adoption measurement for Synertrade
-
Ensure controls and compliance are embedded without slowing the business unnecessarily
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology or related field (advanced degree a plus)
-
Demonstrated full-lifecycle ownership of a Source-to-Pay (S2P) or Procure-to-Pay (P2P) technology implementation—spanning business requirements, system configuration, testing, go-live, hypercare, user adoption measurement, and quantified benefits realization—delivered on time and within budget; Synertrade platform experience strongly preferred
-
10+ years in procurement/supply chain operations with increasing leadership scope
-
Strong program management discipline: timelines, resourcing, governance, risk management, and benefits tracking
-
Proven track record leading a high-volume operational procurement function (buyers, schedulers/planners) with direct accountability for purchasing execution, fill-rate and OTIF performance, and expedite management—not just strategic sourcing; includes demonstrated experience owning KPI dashboards, establishing daily/weekly operating cadences, and communicating procurement performance clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
-
Strong financial acumen: understands impacts on EBITDA, working capital, and inventory health
-
Executive-level communication: can drive alignment and closure across functions
Preferred:
-
Direct, hands-on experience implementing Synertrade as the S2P platform of record, including module configuration, supplier enablement, approval workflow design, and end-user training; experience with comparable platforms (Jaggaer, Coupa, Ivalua) considered but Synertrade experience is a strong differentiator for this role
-
Hands-on experience with Oracle procurement / P2P environments; comfort operating in mixed ERP landscapes (Oracle + AS/400-type ecosystems)
-
Experience in distribution, aftermarket, or high-SKU complexity environments
-
Experience improving A/P match rates, invoice exception handling, and purchasing compliance at scale
-
Familiarity with automation/analytics tools and pragmatic AI use cases in procurement (exception triage, supplier risk signals, spend/process mining)
Key Competencies
-
Builder: creates repeatable systems, standard work, and governance that stick
-
Change leader: can drive adoption without creating rebellion
-
Truth-teller: runs on facts, not anecdotes; makes performance visible
-
Operator first: steady, structured, unglamorous excellence in daily execution
-
Accountable: owns outcomes end-to-end—service, cost, compliance, speed
