As Pacific Heating & Cooling continues to expand its residential home services, the Electrical Service Manager will play a key leadership role in developing the Residential Electrical Department into a high-performing and profitable division. This hands-on leadership role blends operations and technical expertise, with a focus on recruiting and developing a skilled team, establishing effective processes, ensuring compliance with Washington State regulations and electrical codes, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and continued growth of Pacific Heating & Cooling’s Residential Electrical Department.
- Build a team of skilled, customer-focused electricians by recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and retaining top talent.
- Implement and reinforce department operating procedures, service standards, and best practices that align with Pacific Heating & Cooling’s expectations and proven practices used by leading residential electrical service companies.
- Establish a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the General Manager to identify opportunities for department growth, expanded service offerings, staffing needs, and operational improvements.
- Work collaboratively with the HVAC and Plumbing departments to provide a seamless customer experience and identify opportunities for cross-training and cross-selling.
- Support the development of electrical maintenance agreements, service offerings, pricing strategies, and long-term department growth initiatives.
- Ensure the department has the tools, equipment, inventory, and resources necessary to operate efficiently and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to help position Pacific Heating & Cooling as a leader in residential electrical services.
Qualifications & RequirementsRequired Qualifications
- Washington State EL01 or EL02 Electrical License in good standing.
- Minimum of five years of residential electrical service and installation experience.
- Minimum of three years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience within the electrical industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing employees.
- Strong understanding of residential electrical systems, troubleshooting, panel upgrades, service changes, and code compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Washington State Labor & Industries regulations, and local permitting requirements.
- Valid Washington State Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and any required pre-employment screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a residential electrical service department.
- Experience helping launch, grow, or significantly expand an electrical service operation.
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
- Strong understanding of departmental financials, including budgets, profit and loss statements, labor management, and key performance indicators.
- Experience with technician performance coaching, ride-alongs, recruiting, interviewing, and employee development.
- Knowledge of flat-rate pricing, residential service sales, and customer experience best practices.
- Experience with electrical service replacements, standby generators, EV chargers, surge protection, and other residential electrical upgrades.
