Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Part-Time Janitor to join our facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our premises. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
- Handle various cleaning agents safely and follow chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a healthy environment
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to achieve optimal results
- Conduct floor care activities including buffing, polishing, and maintaining different flooring surfaces
- Assist with light custodial duties such as restocking supplies and maintaining restroom sanitation standards
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities, including proper manual handling practices for heavy lifting
- Support facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical agent handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools effectively
- Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting heavy items, and performing repetitive motions
