Summary:
The Gaging Technician calibrates, maintains, and repairs precision measurement and inspection equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements throughout the manufacturing process. This role interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine appropriate gaging methods and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and calibration requirements.
· Responsible for transporting gages to and from the plant floor to support production operations. Calibrate and maintain precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
· Complete all required gage documentation and maintain accurate entries in the gage-tracking system. Conduct routine audits, preventative maintenance activities, and inventory sampling in accordance with quality standards.
· Perform daily visual inspections of all gage benches to verify readiness and compliance for production use. Coordinate and execute the weekly gage exchange process to ensure timely annual certification.
· Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to verify measurement system performance.
· Manage gage inventory: tracking locations, usage status, and calibration intervals.
· Provide support to internal and external customers by troubleshooting gage issues and identifying root causes. Perform minor gage repairs on the plant floor as needed to minimize downtime.
· Train personnel in proper gaging techniques, measurement practices, and equipment handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required
- 5 years manufacturing experience, strong mechanical background, excelled communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel emphasis) and related software applications preferred.
- Understanding of GD&T and calibration principles. Experience working with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and in multicultural environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with management to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proven capability to multitask and manage diverse assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
