Saint Florian Center's nationally recognized Firefighters Youth Leadership Program is seeking an energetic, organized, and mission-driven professional to serve as our 21st Century Project Director. This position provides leadership for a comprehensive afterschool and summer learning program serving youth and families through academic enrichment, leadership development, STEM education, health and wellness activities, violence prevention, robotics, drones, and family engagement opportunities.

Position Summary
The 21st Century Project Director is responsible for the overall administration, implementation, supervision, compliance, and evaluation of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. The Project Director will work closely with school personnel, staff, families, community partners, and the Saint Florian Center leadership team to ensure high-quality programming and successful outcomes for participating youth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and management of the 21st Century Program.
- Ensure all program activities align with grant objectives and performance measures.
- Develop and maintain annual program plans, schedules, and calendars.
- Monitor program quality and continuous improvement efforts.
Staff Supervision
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and volunteers.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Ensure staff maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
Student Programming
- Coordinate academic enrichment activities and tutoring services.
- Oversee STEM, leadership, career exploration, arts, recreation, and wellness activities.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and engagement.
- Develop strategies to improve student recruitment and retention.
Family and Community Engagement
- Support and/or organize family engagement events and educational workshops.
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and volunteers.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the program, school administration, and community stakeholders.
Data Management and Compliance
- Maintain accurate student, staff, and program records.
- Collect, analyze, and report program data.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, school district, and grant requirements.
- Prepare reports and documentation required by funding agencies.
Financial Oversight
- Assist with budget management and monitoring expenditures.
- Ensure resources are used responsibly and in accordance with grant guidelines.
Safety and Operations
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate student-to-staff ratios.
- Address behavioral concerns and parent communications professionally.
- Coordinate field trips and special events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Youth Development, Public Administration, Human Services, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with youth programs, education, afterschool programming, or nonprofit management.
- Experience supervising staff and managing projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing federally funded programs.
- Knowledge of 21st Century Community Learning Centers requirements.
- Experience with grant reporting and compliance.
- Familiarity with Indianapolis Public Schools and community-based youth programming.

Pay: $38,720.00 - $42,000.00 per year
