We are looking for an experienced Optician to join our team! We run a busy, efficient and friendly office with two part-time optometrists. The successful candidate will have athe knowledge & commitment to provide excellent customer service and help educate our patients select the appropriate frames, lenses & lens enhancements for them. Our patients expect fast, friendly service and attention to detail. Knowledge of VSP, MES, EyeMed and a minimum of 1 year of optician experience is required, 3 or more preferred. This is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week). We are looking for an individual who has a passion for patient care, works well in a team environment, has a good work ethic, is energetic and who is looking to stay long-term in this position.
We are located in small friendly Davis. Employees are responsible for their own transportation and there is free parking. We do have dedicated bike parking and are easily accessible by the city bus line.
Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:
- Primary responsibilities include assisting and educating patients with the selection of eyeglass frames, lenses and lens enhancements
- neutralizing jobs from the lab
- dispensing, repairs and adjustments of eyeglasses
- reviewing insurance coverage
- placing orders to maintain frame & contact lens inventory
- lens edging & finishing
- Contact Lens training & dispensing
- Pre-test patients including: autorefractor, visual field, Optos imaging
- Assist in other administrative duties as needs by the office manager and/or doctor
