Washington Central Unified Union School District is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic math educator with a background in a variety of mathematics disciplines to teach high school level classes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan, organize, and implement a proficiency-based instructional program, have experience in project-based and interdisciplinary teaching, and experience using Common Core Math Standards. Must be able to work creatively and collaboratively to create an environment that invites respect for all persons, relate a sense of fairness, and practice commitment to inclusion and diversity. Training in restorative practices is preferred.
Candidates need strong collaborative skills in order to work closely with other educators in team settings. Qualifications: Vermont Educator's License with Mathematics, Grades 7-12, endorsement; Knowledge of Common Core, the Vermont Proficiency-based Graduation Requirements, and 21st Century learning as well as the ability to create proficiency-based lessons and units; Demonstrated understanding and application of best practices in teaching and learning including authentic assessments and Understanding by Design; Experience and/or knowledge in multiple content areas of Mathematics is desired; Enthusiastic, student centered, and committed to educating all students to high standards.Application via SchoolSpring.com is preferred; this position is open until filled; though we will begin reviewing applications upon receipt.
