Civil Litigation Associate Houston, TX (Inner Loop)
Compensation: $145,000–$175,000 + Bonus Potential
Annual Billable Requirement: 1,900 Hours
A well-established national litigation firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate to join its growing Houston office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys substantive litigation work and wants meaningful courtroom exposure as part of a highly respected trial-focused team.
The practice offers a diverse mix of civil defense matters, including transportation claims, construction disputes, professional liability, employment litigation, and complex commercial/general liability cases. Attorneys are trusted with hands-on responsibility from the outset and are encouraged to take an active role in case strategy and courtroom advocacy.
This is not a position where associates remain in a purely supporting role. You’ll have the opportunity to appear in court regularly, argue motions, manage depositions, attend hearings, and build genuine trial experience alongside experienced litigators. For attorneys looking to sharpen their litigation and advocacy skills in a more active environment, this role offers strong long-term development.
The firm is known for maintaining a balanced and sustainable culture while still delivering sophisticated litigation work. With a manageable 1,900-hour billable target and a flexible hybrid structure, attorneys are given autonomy and support without unnecessary micromanagement or rigid in-office expectations.
Compensation is competitive and dependent on experience, with additional performance-based bonus opportunities available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney seeking high-level civil defense work, consistent courtroom exposure, and flexibility within a collaborative national platform.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience
- Background handling matters involving transportation, premises liability, construction defect, or products liability preferred
- Strong written advocacy, deposition, and courtroom skills
- Licensed and in good standing in Texas
