Objective:
The position of Guest Service Supervisor provides for a critical, additional level of supervision and accountability to The Bandit Golf Club’s operation. The Guest Service Supervisor is responsible for providing our customers and members with a positive experience and first impression of the property. This includes ensuring that every customer and member receives a professional, courteous greeting with a clean golf car, in a trash and dirt-free parking lot, with clean restrooms, and a presentable practice range with ample supplies. Our customers or members should never have to load a golf bag or walk from the parking lot.
Responsibilities:
The Guest Service Supervisor has direct oversight of the guest service team to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities, including providing an experience to the customers on property that exemplifies the highest level of customer service. The following are keys initiatives of this position.
- Assist the golf operations team with recruiting, hiring, training, and when necessary, termination efforts.
- Lead all training efforts for new guest services team members to ensure they are effectively trained to do the job and understand all required best practices of the guest service team.
- As a resource to the golf operations team, assist by providing input for scheduling staff on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Ensure the guest service team is following and completing the daily opening and closing checklists during every shift. Provide input as to critical tasks and nuances at The Bandit Golf Club for revising or creating new checklists as warranted.
- Develop a golf car detailing schedule that ensures each golf car is detailed at least one time monthly. See to it that this detailing gets done by maintaining a golf car detail log in accordance with Foresight Golf policy and Playbook.
- Ensure that golf car spot-detailing is taking place by the guest service staff of the golf cars staged in the showcase area.
- Work with the onsite golf car preventative maintenance team member to ensure weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance is completed on The Bandit’s golf car fleet.
- Ensure any cosmetic or mechanical issues are reported to preventative maintenance/golf car mechanic and General Manager immediately.
- Assist the golf operations team to lead the guest service team by coaching, directing, and following up.
- Hold guest services team members accountable for performing the duties of their job and the efficient use of time and resources. This includes all policies in the employee handbook and the Playbook including the following minimum standards: The overall cleanliness of the floorboard, dashboard compartments, body of golf car, etc. is acceptable before the golf car is presented to a customer or member.
All sand bottles are filled appropriately.
There is a fresh pencil and scorecard in place.
The club/ball washer is full and with clean water.
The parking lot, cart barn, mechanic bay is always neat and clean. Make sure the team is policing the entire area for trash throughout the day.
Watch to ensure guest service team members are not using their cell phones or music devices while on duty.
Ensure that all team members are in uniform while on duty, and their personal appearance is acceptable. This includes making sure they are wearing a Bandit Golf Club branded shirt, outwear, headwear, etc. while working their shift.
- Take direction from the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager for the day’s business and ensure the tasks are performed in a way that compliments the operation best.
- Document all discipline and efficiency problems and present them to the General Manager for follow-up and remedy.
- Oversee guest services tournament operations including providing each guest with a clean and well stocked golf car, ensuring each cart is stocked with appropriate tournament collateral, assisting each guest to their assigned car and then to registration, handling customers bags and ensuring they are placed on the proper car, and providing appropriate staffing levels for each event on the tournament schedule.
- Ensure that the practice range tee, practice ball machine and practice ball storage area is clean and always organized.
- Oversee proper management of practice balls including daily picking, weekly clean picking, cleaning, and stocking of practice balls, removing any non-practice balls from the ball inventory, and proper management of new and old practice ball stocking according to the Playbook, to always ensure a sufficient supply of practice balls.
