Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social skills aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Manage daily classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Engage children in hands-on learning experiences that support their physical, cognitive, and emotional development through play-based methods.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong partnerships.
- Apply behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct and address challenges with patience and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of child development progress, attendance, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Ensure classroom safety by adhering to health protocols such as first aid and CPR procedures while promoting overall child welfare.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and childhood development instruction.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and Montessori or other educational philosophies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing training in child welfare laws is preferred.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, standardized testing preparation (if applicable), and physical activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being.
