COMMUNICATIONS/SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the SCSSC Marketing Director, the communications/social media intern will assist in the communications part of a marketing plan to increase participation at the 2027 South Carolina Senior Games. The intern will also increase the general public awareness of SCSSC and its mission.
Candidates should:
Be currently pursuing or recently finished a degree in Communication or a related field.
Have strong skills using social media for marketing
Have strong writing skills with a good sense of tone and empathy.
Have a passion for the mission of the SCSSC.
Be detail-oriented with self-initiative and good organizational skills.
Specific duties include:
Create content by writing posts, designing graphics (like using Canva), and editing short videos
for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and potentially TikTok.
Reply to social media comments and messages to build a loyal audience.
Report Analytics by tracking post-performance using tools like Google Analytics to see what content resonates best.
Promote upcoming community events affiliated with Senior Sports and share impact stories.
Cultivate the SCSSC brand locally, statewide, and nationally.
This part-time position will be August through May 2027. The number of hours worked
during this period and compensation are negotiable. Any compensation would be in two
lump sum payments, one in December 2026 and one in May 2027. All work can be done
remotely, but a few meetings in the Columbia area may prove useful.
