How you will make an impact: The Community Outreach Coordinator serves as the vital bridge between Paterson Community Health Center and the public we serve. Working on a freelance basis, this role builds strategic partnerships, plans community events, and connects community members to health exams and medical support at local events and PCHC-centered gatherings. The coordinator promotes the health center's mission, addresses local needs, and boosts engagement across the communities we serve.
What you will do:
Patient Enrollment and Engagement
- Sign up patients for health exams and medical support at community events, health fairs, and PCHC-sponsored gatherings. Patient enrollment sits at the center of every event this role supports.
- Staff informational booths and open houses, guiding attendees through the sign-up process on the spot.
- Track enrollment numbers and event outcomes to measure the reach of each initiative.
Relationship Building
- Network with local leaders, businesses, faith organizations, and community members to expand awareness of PCHC services.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships that create new pathways for patient enrollment.
Event Planning
- Coordinate and staff open houses, workshops, and informational booths at community hubs.
- Plan event logistics, from site selection to materials, so each event runs smoothly and supports enrollment goals.
Program Management
- Develop, execute, and track the success of community-based outreach initiatives.
- Report on program results and recommend adjustments to improve enrollment and engagement.
Communication
- Deliver promotional materials that encourage community members to attend events and sign up for services.
- Act as the public face of Paterson Community Health Center at community events.
Who you are and what you will bring:
Education and Experience
- One to three years of experience in outreach, non-profit work, or public relations is highly valued.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong public speaking and event organization abilities.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse community members.
- Comfortable working independently in a freelance, field-based capacity.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour, freelance role.
