Creative Arts & DIY Instructor (High School After-School Program)
Position Overview
EduCare Foundation is seeking a highly creative, energetic, and reliable Creative Arts & DIY Instructor to lead engaging after-school enrichment classes for high school students (grades 9–12).
We are looking for an instructor with experience in multiple creative disciplines who can teach a variety of hands-on projects throughout the school year. The ideal candidate enjoys creating new projects, adapting current DIY trends, and inspiring students to explore their creativity in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
Required Creative Experience
Applicants must have demonstrated experience in at least three (3) of the following areas:
- Cricut Design Space, vinyl cutting, and custom design projects
- Heat Press and Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)
- DIY crafts and handmade projects
- Rug Tufting (Carpet Making Machine)
- Embroidery (hand and/or machine)
- Jewelry making and accessory design
- Rhinestone application and bedazzling
- Personalized gifts and custom products
- Custom apparel and accessories
- Seasonal crafts and decorative projects
Candidates should be comfortable planning and teaching projects across multiple creative disciplines rather than specializing in only one area.
Projects May Include
- Custom apparel using Cricut and Heat Press
- Beginner embroidery projects
- Rug tufting and carpet making
- Jewelry making and accessory design
- Bedazzling clothing, hats, bags, and accessories
- Personalized gifts and home décor
- Seasonal and holiday crafts
- Student-led creative projects
Essential Responsibilities
- Create engaging lesson plans and facilitate daily hands-on creative activities.
- Teach students how to safely use crafting tools, equipment, and materials.
- Build positive relationships with students while encouraging creativity, confidence, and participation.
- Supervise groups of up to 20 high school students in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Recruit students to participate in programs and activities.
- Complete activity plans and required program documentation.
- Take daily attendance and ensure proper student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Submit attendance through required systems, including the BTB App when applicable.
- Maintain an organized classroom and properly care for program materials and equipment.
- Support after-school events and special activities as assigned.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and EduCare management.
- Follow all EduCare, school district, and site safety policies and procedures.
- Attend required staff meetings and professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
Monday – Friday
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM (Typical After-School Hours)
Qualifications / Education
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university or completion of at least twelve (12) college semester units.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working in an after-school program, youth program, educational setting, or community-based organization.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with high school students preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in at least three (3) of the creative skill areas listed above.
- Experience planning and facilitating creative workshops or enrichment activities preferred.

- Passion for mentoring high school students and fostering creativity.

Work Environment
The work environment is representative of an active after-school program and may include indoor classrooms, outdoor spaces, special events, and field trips. Noise levels are generally moderate.
