Job Description: Repair Technician
Summary
Our technicians are responsible for repairing and/or replacing damaged auto glass for all types of cars, trucks, and SUVs, including RVs and commercial fleet vehicles. This includes side windows, rear windows, windshields, sunroofs, and mirrors. Technicians perform Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration on newer vehicles, and replace or repair all seals and weatherstrips. They must maintain a clean and safe work environment and be able to communicate effectively with customers.
Responsibilities
- Removal of old glass, installation of new windshields, sunroofs, side glass, associated trim.
- Organize handled and ordered replacement auto glass.
- Diagnose damage to glass trim and window seals.
- Communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Use appropriate glass and trim replacement tools.
- Perform leak tests after installation of new glass.
- Utilize safety equipment for protection of both self and others working nearby.
- Advise customers on proper care and maintenance of new automotive glass.
- Assist with inventory, cleaning shop, organizing as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and precision to ensure precise and accurate installation.
- Short-term on-the-job training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification in automotive glass installation from a recognized institution (preferred)
- Familiarity in using specialized tools and equipment like ADAS (preferred)
- Periodic training and professional development, to stay updated on industry standards
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Strong ability to problem-solve
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Remain on feet, standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
- Ability to operate vehicles safely
- Safely handle sharp tools, sealants, chemicals
- Work in various weather/temperature conditions
- Ability to remain flexible with hours/days trained/worked as workload fluctuates to frequent changes in customer and business demands
- Auto mechanical experience a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
