Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. This role is essential in fostering the development of young learners, ensuring they receive the guidance and support necessary for their growth in early childhood education settings. We are looking for someone to help in our Seedlings classroom, ages 6weeks to 18 months. We may also need help in other rooms depending on the classroom numbers for the day, or if other staff members are gone.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Engage with students to encourage participation and facilitate learning activities.
- Provide individualized support to children, meeting the child where their need levels fall.
- Help with curriculum development and adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, implementing behavior management strategies as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Skills
- Experience in early childhood education, or willingness to learn!
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in classroom management techniques that foster a positive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of taking initiative when needed.
