Position Overview
The Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants aged 0–15 months. This role involves planning and implementing activities that promote growth across all developmental domains, in alignment with Texas HHS standards and Canyon Creek Preschool's educational philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Implementation: Design and execute age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences that foster emotional, social, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Texas HHS Minimum Standards for child-care centers, including safe sleep practices, proper sanitation, and emergency preparedness.
- Individualized Care: Provide responsive caregiving tailored to each infant's needs, including feeding, diapering, and comforting routines.
- Family Engagement: Maintain open and effective communication with families, sharing daily updates and developmental progress.
- Classroom Management: Ensure the classroom environment is clean, organized, and conducive to learning and exploration.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with co-teachers and staff to maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios and a cohesive teaching approach.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or higher education in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working with infants in a licensed child-care setting.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification; completion of required pre-service and annual training as specified by Texas HHS.
- Background Check: Successful completion of all background checks as mandated by Texas HHS.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
