POSITION OVERVIEW
The Capital Improvement Project Manager is responsible for, under the supervision of the CIP Engineer, developing, overseeing, and managing the city’s capital improvement projects including directing assigned staff and outside consultants in the monitoring of projects, including regular status updates from initial concept through project completion. This position will need to ensure the meeting of the city engineering standards and codes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES-
Manages capital improvement projects through the oversight of project schedules, monitoring of budgets and specifications

Oversees the design and construction of contracted maintenance projects for streets, drainage, water, and wastewater requiring engineering.

Confers with city officials, developers, and community stakeholders to identify needs, develop and design projects, and assess impact of developments on existing infrastructure.

Reviews development proposals and ensures requirements for infrastructure extensions and upgrades are performed in accordance with ordinances and city specifications with consideration of city’s capacity.

Participates and coordinates activities with TxDOT, UPRR, as well as Williamson County officials

Assists in supervision and monitoring performance of third parties; assigning duties, scheduling work, and performance evaluation.

Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES-
Ability to offer excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with stakeholders and co-workers.

Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, ordinances, and codes that govern construction

Skills in oral and written communication

Ability to interpret plans, maps, and specifications and to recognize divergence of plans in construction items

Knowledge of civil engineering processes

Experience in project management

Skills in handling and prioritizing tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-
Bachelor’s degree from an accreditable university/college in a related field is required.

Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public works design and/or construction project management.

OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Valid Texas Drivers License
