Shuttle Driver at Comfort Inn JFK - E Class Required
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
SUMMARY: The Shuttle Driver provides safe, courteous, and professional transportation for hotel guests, delivering timely pick-ups, drop-offs, and assistance that upholds the hotel's quality and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest Service & Transportation
- Provide shuttle service for hotel guests in a safe and courteous manner.
- Stop at designated points to load and unload guests in a timely and orderly fashion.
- Assist guests by lifting and carrying luggage and baggage on and off the shuttle van as needed.
- “Posts up” between runs, demonstrating a consistent readiness to help guests.
- Provide information and respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, attractions, and directions in order to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Maintain complete knowledge of hotel amenities and layout, local attractions, and airport transportation.
- Able to accurately give directions and information regarding the immediate and metro areas.
- Keep up to date on in-house groups and functions to anticipate guest transportation needs.
Vehicle Care & Safety
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating the shuttle.
- Responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the shuttle, reporting any major problems to the General Manager.
- Ensure the shuttle’s gas tank is kept full and ready for service.
- Read the log book daily to stay current on scheduled runs and vehicle notes.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures.
Professionalism & Compliance
- Maintain a positive, company-driven attitude in all guest and associate interactions.
- Ensure all checklists and responsibilities are completed by the end of each shift.
- Follow all rules and policies found in the M&R Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management of which the employee is capable of performing.
Qualifications
- Valid, unrestricted E-Class driver’s license with a clean driving record; must meet the hotel’s and insurance carrier’s motor vehicle record requirements.
- Minimum 21 years of age, or as required by the property’s insurance policy.
- Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) screening.
- Working knowledge of the local area, including hotel amenities, attractions, and transportation routes.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while driving, stand and walk to assist guests, and lift and carry luggage and baggage up to 50 lbs. The Shuttle Driver must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
